It is a review of the current Points Test that applies to GSM visas. The purpose of the review is to evaluate the effectiveness of the current Points Test. It is being undertaken to ensure that the Points Test is selecting high calibre applicants with skills the nation needs for the future.
这是对适用于一般技术移民签证现有评分标准的一次重新审核，目的是评估一下评分标准的有效性，确保评分标准能够挑选出具有技能的高素质申请人，以满足国家未来的需要。
Q 2 When will the GSM Points Test Review be undertaken?

The GSM Points Test Review will be undertaken in the first half of 2010. A discussion paper will be placed on the department's website www.immi.gov.au by 12 February 2010 and be open for public comment until 12 March 2010. Government will consider the recommendations made.
一般技术移民评分标准审核将在2010年上半年进行。2010年2月12日，一份讨论文件将会放到移民公民部网站上（www.immi.gov.au），至3月10日接受公众评论。政府届时会考虑大家的建议。
Q 3 Will changes be made to the Points Test?
3、评分标准是否会有什么改变？
It is not known if the government will decide to make changes to the GSM Points Test. If the government decides that changes are necessary, they will determine when they are to take place and who they will apply to. Please check the department's website www.immi.gov.au for updates.

Q 5 How does the current points test distort outcomes for a skilled migrant?
5、现有的评分标准对技术移民方面有什么弊端？
The current points test does not always lead to outcomes that are consistent with the objectives of General Skilled Migration Program, which is to focus on applicants with high value skills that will meet Australia's medium to long-term economic needs.
技术移民计划主要是为了挑选能够满足澳大利亚经济中长期发展要求的申请人，而现有评分标准的结果与技术移民计划的目标并不完全一致。
